A New Era Begins
at Hazeltine
In October of 2009, we began the highly anticipated Clubhouse transformation process. The existing Clubhouse was demolished to make way for a new state of the art facility opening in September of 2010. In addition to a new Clubhouse facility, the golf course will also undergo a large scale improvement. As most of the greens are original to 1962 and have difficulty draining properly, rebuilding them will be our top priority. The new greens will exceed USGA standards and be seeded with bent grasses to make them firm and true for the entire season. We will take advantage of this down time to re-grass the fairways and the first eight feet of the roughs as well. This phase will begin on July 6, 2010, and play will resume in June of 2011. Although this is an extensive process, it upholds Hazeltine’s mission statement to build and maintain a golf course and related facilities suitable for the conduct of National Championships.
